How much does it cost to use the app?

The app is 100% free for users to view, join, and contribute to community projects. We also have public-access groups you can join to submit data as an individual for trapping, key species monitoring, etc.

Users can also list their groups and projects on The Conservation Hub for free, as well as create new discussion threads and events.

For projects that would like to create their own forms for users to submit data to, please get in contact with us for personalised pricing.

Is there a user limit or submission limit for my project?

No, there are unlimited users and unlimited submissions.

Who owns the data?

The account holder (group) owns the data.

Who can see the data in an group or project?

You can see, edit and manage your own data. The admin users or project collaborators of a group or project can view all the submissions for all of the forms associated with that group or project.

Can we hide our group, project, or spots?

Yes, you can choose to have your group, project, or spots unlisted so that users outside of your group cannot see your listings.

Is our data secure?

We take your data security very seriously. All users use authenticated access to the data for your group or project. Access can be controlled on a user basis, and your data is backed up daily.

Where is our data hosted? Does it comply with New Zealand Data Privacy Laws?

All of your data is hosted on Amazon Web Services. Amazon Web Services complies with New Zealand Data Privacy Laws and is considered one of the most secure cloud computing environments available today. To learn more about Amazon Web Services and their data privacy practices for New Zealand, please refer to their official documentation here.

Can we import data?

Can we have one group for multiple projects?

Yes you can. Admins will be able to see data across the whole group, including the group's projects and projects where that group is a project collaborator.

Can we share our group data with an umbrella organisation or a regional council?

Yes, if you so wish to. Sharing your information with an umbrella organisation is optional.

Can we as an umbrella organisation invite people to contribute details of their projects without them having their own group?

Yes, you can create a spot or project and invite a user (a group coordinator for instance) to keep their group/project contact details up to date as a project collaborator.
